How to Reach The Last Judge
Dangerous Route Warning
Unlike previous boss fights, reaching The Last Judge requires navigating through multiple Judge and Driznit enemies in challenging platforming sections.
Route from Blasted Steps Bench:
Starting Point: From the top Bench in Blasted Steps (via Shellwood), go two rooms to your right
First Platform Section: Sprint across two platforms, avoid the spawning Driznit enemy
Gold Platform Navigation: Jump onto gold platform (right), use Cling Grip to reach platform on left (watch for Judge enemy)
Wall Climbing: From Judge platform, use Cling Grip to reach upper-right platform, then use abilities to climb wall on left
Bell Pogo Section: Carefully glide to bell on right and pogo off it to reach the platform beyond
Final Approach: Navigate through more bell pogo challenges, avoid Driznit, and reach the Tall Pilgrim
Boss Activation: Speak to the Tall Pilgrim and play your Needolin to activate The Last Judge fight
Note: You only need to play the Needolin once to activate the fight. The route involves precise platforming and enemy avoidance - take your time!
Phase 1: Bell Mastery
Phase 1 Overview
The Last Judge's first phase focuses on bell-based attacks with chain mechanics. Learn to read his attack patterns and maintain safe distance while looking for openings.
Phase 1 Attack Patterns
Bell Spin
The Last Judge rapidly spins his bell and chain around him in a wide arc. This attack has significant range and lasts several seconds.
Danger Level: High - Wide area denial
Counter Strategy:
- • Keep maximum distance from the boss
- • Do NOT attempt to attack during this move
- • Use this time to position for his next attack
- • Be patient - wait for the spin to complete
Bell Throw
After spinning briefly, The Last Judge throws his bell forward in a straight line. The bell then gets reeled back in, creating a return hazard.
Damage: High impact damage
Counter Strategy:
- • Dash sideways to avoid the thrown bell
- • Stay away from the return path
- • Don't attack immediately after the throw
- • Wait for the bell to return completely
Critical Warning: Resist the temptation to attack when he throws his bell. The return swing can catch you off-guard and deal massive damage.
Bell Slam
The Last Judge jumps into the air and slams his bell straight down to the ground. This is your primary attack opportunity.
Opportunity: Best chance for damage
Optimal Strategy:
- • Dash under him if he's approaching
- • Pogo off his head after the slam
- • Attack him from above or from the side
- • Perfect timing for healing with Bind
Pro Tip: The Bell Slam recovery time is your main window for dealing damage. Focus on landing one clean hit rather than getting greedy.
Phase 2: Fire and Fury
Phase 2 Transformation
The Last Judge becomes significantly more dangerous, adding fire elements to all his existing attacks plus a devastating new charge attack. The Magma Bell becomes crucial here.
Essential: Equip the Magma Bell before this phase to reduce fire damage significantly.
Enhanced Fire Attacks
Fire Bell Spin
Enhanced version of the Phase 1 Bell Spin, now sending out expanding circles of fire that move slowly toward you.
Fire Damage: Continuous burn potential
Survival Strategy:
- • Position between fire circles carefully
- • Fire circles move slowly - you can dodge them
- • Wait for all fire to be extinguished
- • Stay mobile but don't panic-dash
Fire Bell Slam
The familiar Bell Slam now creates waves of fire spreading out from both sides of The Last Judge upon impact.
Pattern: Bilateral fire waves
Counter Strategy:
- • Jump/drift over fire waves
- • Still your best attack opportunity
- • Pogo off his head to avoid ground fire
- • Attack from above when safe
Fire Bell Throw
The thrown bell now conjures burning fire at its landing point for several seconds, creating a persistent hazard zone.
Duration: Fire persists after impact
Avoidance Strategy:
- • Stay far from landing zone
- • Avoid the area until fire extinguishes
- • Don't get trapped between boss and fire
- • Wait for complete return before approaching
Fire Charge (NEW ATTACK)
The Last Judge's new Phase 2 attack. He charges forward rapidly and sends waves of fire in that direction.
Speed: Very fast charge attack
Optimal Counter:
- • Jump over The Last Judge as he charges
- • Attack him from behind after the charge
- • Pogo off his head for aerial advantage
- • Retreat to safety after attacking
Opportunity: Fire Charge is actually one of your best chances for damage in Phase 2. Jumping over him leaves him vulnerable to attacks from behind.
Advanced Combat Strategy
Attack Opportunities:
Primary: Bell Slam recovery - pogo off his head for downward strikes
Secondary: Fire Charge - jump over and attack from behind
Ranged: Silkspear for chip damage between attack patterns
Avoid: Never attack during Bell Spin or Bell Throw
Critical Tips:
Don't Get Greedy: One hit at a time is safer than multiple hits
Practice Patience: Wait for clear openings, don't force attacks
Precision Movement: Master dash timing and pogo mechanics
Bind Timing: Use Bell Slam recovery for safe healing
Final Phase Warning
When The Last Judge is defeated, he will kneel still and then explode. Watch for him becoming stunned and motionless - this signals the fight is ending.
Safety: Move away from The Last Judge when you see him kneeling and stunned to avoid explosion damage.
