What Are Mementos?
Mementos are decorative collectibles you can display in your Bellhome to make it feel less empty and more like an actual home. Think of them like trophies or souvenirs from your journey through Pharloom. There are 9 different Mementos scattered throughout the game, but here's the catch—you can only collect 8 of them because two are mutually exclusive choices.
Each Memento is tied to a specific boss fight, quest, or challenge. You can't just stumble upon these—you'll need to actively seek them out, and most won't even be available until Act 3 when you've unlocked the necessary movement abilities and progression requirements.
Important Choice: You'll need to choose between the Conjoined Heart (from Green Prince quest) OR the Encrusted Heart (from Dark Hearts wish). You can't get both in a single playthrough, so pick wisely!
The complete Memento collection looks pretty sweet displayed in your Bellhome
Prerequisites & Setup
Before you start hunting for Mementos, make sure you've got the basics covered. Here's what you'll need:
Essential Requirements
- Act 3 Access: Almost all Mementos require you've progressed to Act 3. Check our Act 3 unlock guide if you're not there yet.
- Bellhome: You need your own home in Bellhart to actually display Mementos. This unlocks naturally as you progress.
- Silk Soar: Several Mementos require the super jump ability to reach their locations.
- Needolin: A few Mementos are unlocked by playing music in specific spots.
Display Your Collection
To actually see your Mementos on display, you'll need to buy furniture from Frey in Bellhart. Once you've got a Desk installed in your Bellhome, any Mementos you've collected will automatically appear there. Pretty cool system, honestly.
Pro Tip: If you're going for 100% completion, track which Mementos you've already collected. There's no in-game checklist, so keeping notes helps avoid backtracking.
#1: Surface Memento
This one's basically Silksong's answer to Path of Pain, though it's not nearly as brutal. You'll need to complete a challenging platforming section to reach the surface, then play Needolin in the right spot.
How to Get It
- Return to the Cradle: Head back to where you fought the Grand Mother of Silk in Act 2. At the very top of that chamber, there's a hidden entrance that's easy to miss.
- Enter the Hidden Cave: Look for an opening at the top of the chamber. This leads to the platforming gauntlet.
- Complete the Platforming: Yeah, this part sucks. You'll need to navigate through a series of precise jumps and obstacles. Use Silk Soar and all your movement tech. Take your time—there are safe spots along the way.
- Reach Nameless Town: Once you make it to the surface (congrats!), head east through the area until you reach Nameless Town.
- Find the Ruined House: At the far eastern end of Nameless Town, you'll see the remains of an old structure.
- Play Needolin: Stand near the corpse inside the ruins and play Needolin. Keep playing for a bit—you'll see lyrics appear. Stop playing and wait a moment.
- Collect the Memento: The Surface Memento will literally drop from the ceiling. Pick it up!

Watch Out: The platforming section is no joke. If you're struggling, take breaks and approach it section by section. There's no shame in coming back later with more practice!
#2: Craw Memento
The Craw Memento requires you to defeat the Court of Craws and the Crawfather. First though, you need to get the Craw Summons, which is kinda random.
Step 1: Get the Craw Summons
This part's a bit weird. You need to rest at benches in Act 3 around the Greymoor/Shellwood area. Eventually, when you sit down, a Pin will descend from above with the Craw Summons attached. It's random, so you might need to try a few different benches.
The bench in the center of Shellwood (the large rectangular chamber on the eastern side) seems to work well. Just keep resting and checking until it appears.
Step 2: Enter the Craw Structure
- Head to the Craw structure at the eastern edge of Greymoor (near Verdania entrance).
- Enter through the door on the lowest level.
- Go to the southeast corner inside.
- You'll find a locked door that accepts the Craw Summons. Use it.
Step 3: Defeat the Court of Craws
Drop down into the combat arena. You'll fight waves of Craw enemies before facing the Crawfather as the final boss. Beat them all to receive the Craw Memento as your reward. The fight's not too bad if you've made it to Act 3—just stay aggressive and watch for openings.

#3: Grey Memento
The Grey Memento is dropped by the Watcher at the Edge, a secret boss hidden in Sands of Karak. You'll need Silk Soar to reach them, and Needolin to trigger the fight.
Finding the Hidden Path
- Go to Western Sands: Head to the southwestern passage in Sands of Karak, just before the path back down to Blasted Steps and the Pintress' home.
- Look for the Hidden Passage: The entrance is just left of the "S" in "Sands of Karak" on your map. Super easy to miss.
- Use Hidden Seeds: There are hidden seeds on the wall and ceiling here. Hit the seed on the ceiling to create a branch path upward.
- Silk Soar Up: Follow the branch to what looks like a dead end. Use Silk Soar to reach the hidden ledge above.
- Head West: Follow the hidden path all the way to its western end.
Fighting the Watcher
When you reach the Watcher at the Edge, they'll look like just another sand-covered fossil. Play Needolin near them—keep playing for a bit. Eventually they'll wake up and the boss fight begins. Defeat them and they'll crumble into pieces, dropping the Grey Memento for you to collect.

Smart Guide: The boss fight isn't too hard, but watch for their sweeping attacks. Stay mobile and poke them during recovery frames. Standard Silksong boss strats.
#4: Conjoined Heart
Mutually Exclusive Choice: Getting the Conjoined Heart means you CAN'T get the Encrusted Heart (#9). If you use the Conjoined Heart for the "Dark Hearts" wish, you'll get the Encrusted Heart instead. Choose wisely!
The Conjoined Heart is the reward from completing the Green Prince questline in Verdania. This is one of two heart-based Mementos, and you need to choose which path you want to take. Most players go for the Conjoined Heart because it's more straightforward.
Understanding the Heart System
In Act 3, the Snail Shamans give you the "Old Hearts" quest to collect three hearts. There are actually four collectible hearts in the game:
- Heart of Might: Found in Coral Tower (quest heart)
- Heart of the Woods: Located in wooded areas (quest heart)
- Heart of the Wild: In Far Fields (quest heart)
- Conjoined Heart: From Green Prince questline (optional 4th heart)
How to Get the Conjoined Heart
- Reach Verdania: This area becomes accessible in Act 3.
- Find the Green Prince's Home: Head to the location shown on the map. Enter through the door above, go right, climb up, then head left.
- Interact with the Green Prince: Talk to them to trigger the Clover Dancers boss fight.
- Defeat the Clover Dancers: Win this boss fight and you'll be transported back.
- Collect the Conjoined Heart: The Conjoined Heart will be lying there beside the Green Prince's body. Pick it up to get the "Lamenter" achievement.
Keeping It as a Memento
To keep the Conjoined Heart as your Memento, simply collect the three main quest hearts (Might, Woods, Wild) and turn those in to the Snail Shamans. Don't use the Conjoined Heart for the "Dark Hearts" wish. The Conjoined Heart will remain in your inventory as a Memento you can display in your Bellhome.

Recommended Path: Most players choose to keep the Conjoined Heart since it's easier to obtain than the Encrusted Heart. Plus, you get the "Lamenter" achievement automatically!
#5: Hero's Memento
This one's pretty straightforward—complete the "Hero's Call" wish in Act 3 by defeating Lost Garmond. Simple as that.
Unlocking Hero's Call
You'll need to meet Garmond and Zaza a few times throughout your playthrough. The easiest first encounter is in Greymoor—you'll find them in a small chamber along the eastern wall of the main structure. Just talk to them.
Later in Act 3, you'll encounter them again in Far Fields (often near Weavenest Cindril or the western entrance). After these encounters, the "Hero's Call" wish should appear on the Bellhart Wishboard. Some players report needing to complete the "Old Hearts" quest and get the Everbloom first, so if it's not showing up, progress the main story a bit more.
Defeating Lost Garmond
Once "Hero's Call" is active, head to the Blasted Steps Bellway. Zaza will be there trying to get your attention. Follow them to find Garmond, who's been taken over by the Void. It's honestly pretty sad, but you gotta fight them. Win the fight to receive the Hero's Memento and unlock the "Hero's Call" achievement.
Hero's Call completion grants the Hero's Memento
#6: Hunter's Memento
Not gonna lie—this is the most tedious Memento to get. You need to complete all 234 basic entries in the Hunter's Journal by killing every enemy type in the game enough times. Yeah, it's a grind.
Getting the Hunter's Journal
First, you need to get the Hunter's Journal itself. Head to the Halfway Home in Greymoor and find Nuu in the small chamber directly above Criege. Talk to them to start the "Bugs of Pharloom" quest, which gives you the Hunter's Journal. The initial quest only asks for 100 bug entries, but you'll need all 234 for the Memento.

Tracking Your Progress
Want to know exactly how close you are? Get the Farsight item from Weavenest Absalom in the Abyss and install it in your Bellhome. This reveals completion stats including your Hunter's Journal progress. Super helpful for tracking what you're missing.
Completion Tips
- Work on this naturally as you play—don't wait until the end to grind it all out
- Revisit early areas to farm common enemies you might've missed
- Boss entries count too, so make sure you've fought everyone
- Some enemies only appear in specific acts or locations, so explore thoroughly
- Check your journal regularly to see what you're missing
The fully completed Hunter's Journal—234 entries total
Reality Check: This will probably be your last Memento. Budget several hours for grinding out the missing entries. Put on a podcast or something.
#7: Sprintmaster Memento
Love racing? You'll need to beat Sprintmaster Swift in their final race after completing the "Fastest in Pharloom" wish. It's actually pretty fun compared to most Memento hunts.
Finding Sprintmaster Swift
In Act 3, head to the far eastern side of Far Fields. Sprintmaster Swift hangs out there waiting for challengers. Talk to them to start the "Fastest in Pharloom" wish, which requires you to win three laps in a race.
Racing Tips
- Learn the race route before going all-out—take a practice lap
- Use your movement abilities efficiently (don't spam, be precise)
- Swift has a set speed, so you just need to avoid mistakes
- Hitting walls or missing platforms will cost you the race
- The final lap is the most important—save your best performance for last
Win all three laps and Swift will hand over the Sprintmaster Memento. Honestly one of the more satisfying Mementos to earn since it actually tests your movement skills.

#8: Guardian's Memento (Seth)
This one's unique—you need to beat Shrine Guardian Seth's high scores in all three Festival of the Flea minigames. First though, you'll need to actually defeat Seth as a boss, then track him down through several locations.
Seth's Journey
After you defeat Seth in the boss fight, he'll move around Pharloom before finally settling in Fleatopia. You'll encounter him in these locations in order:
- Greymoor: Where Shakra first sold the Greymoor Map
- Shellwood: In one of the chambers there
- Fleatopia: His final location in the northeastern Putrefied Ducts
The Minigame Challenge
Once Seth's in Fleatopia, check the high score board near Vog. You need to beat these scores:
- Flea Juggle: 55+ (use Shaman's Crest)
- Flea Dodge: 95+ (use Wanderer Crest)
- Flea Bounce: 68+ (use Wanderer Crest)
You can't use Tools or Silk Skills in the minigames—only your basic movement and attacks. Crest choice matters a lot here. For Dodge and Bounce, nail bouncing (pogo attacks) is crucial. Juggle is more about timing and positioning.
Beat all three high scores, then talk to Seth again to receive the Guardian's Memento. This is probably the second-hardest Memento after Hunter's, just because the minigames can be frustrating.
Seth's final location in Fleatopia
Heads Up: Flea Dodge with a 95 score requirement is brutal. Take breaks if you're getting tilted. The scores are tough but definitely achievable with practice.
#9: Encrusted Heart (Alternative Choice)
Mutually Exclusive Choice: You can only get the Encrusted Heart if you USE the Conjoined Heart for the "Dark Hearts" wish. This means you give up the Conjoined Heart Memento (#4) to get this one instead. Can't have both!
The Encrusted Heart is the alternative heart Memento. It's harder to get than the Conjoined Heart because it requires completing an additional quest chain. Most players skip this one and just keep the Conjoined Heart, but if you want this specific Memento, here's how to get it.
Prerequisites
- Complete the Green Prince questline to get the Conjoined Heart
- Collect the three main quest hearts (Heart of Might, Heart of the Woods, Heart of the Wild)
- Have access to the "Dark Hearts" wish
How to Get It
- Get All Four Hearts: Make sure you have all four hearts in your possession—the three quest hearts plus the Conjoined Heart from the Green Prince.
- Use the Conjoined Heart: Instead of keeping it as a Memento, use the Conjoined Heart as part of the "Dark Hearts" wish. This is the key step that locks you into getting the Encrusted Heart instead.
- Complete the Dark Hearts Wish: Follow the quest requirements for "Dark Hearts." The specifics involve using the hearts in a specific way.
- Visit Crust King Khaan: Head to Coral Tower and find Crust King Khaan. After completing the "Dark Hearts" wish with the Conjoined Heart, he'll give you the Encrusted Heart as a replacement Memento.
The Old Hearts quest is key to obtaining the Encrusted Heart
Which Heart Should You Choose?
Conjoined Heart (#4)
Pros:
- Easier to get
- Fewer quest steps
- Unlocks "Lamenter" achievement
- Most players choose this
Cons: Can't get Encrusted Heart
Encrusted Heart (#9)
Pros:
- Rarer Memento
- Unique quest experience
- More challenging to obtain
Cons: Requires more work, lose Conjoined Heart
Our Take: Unless you really want the rarer Memento or are going for a specific completion goal, we recommend just keeping the Conjoined Heart. It's way less hassle and you get the same decorative result in your Bellhome.
Collection Tips & Strategy
Optimal Collection Order
Here's how I'd recommend tackling these:
- Decide on Heart Choice: First, decide if you want Conjoined Heart (easier) or Encrusted Heart (harder but rarer). This affects your quest path.
- Conjoined/Encrusted Heart: Do the Green Prince quest early in Act 3 since you're already exploring Verdania. If going for Encrusted Heart, prepare for the Dark Hearts quest chain.
- Craw & Grey Mementos: Knock these out as you unlock Silk Soar—they're straightforward boss fights
- Hero's Memento: Complete this when "Hero's Call" appears on the wishboard
- Sprintmaster Memento: Practice the racing when you reach Far Fields
- Surface Memento: Tackle the platforming challenge when you're feeling patient
- Guardian's Memento: Grind out the minigames—save these for a dedicated session
- Hunter's Memento: This will naturally be last since you need to kill everything
Don't Stress About Missing Anything
None of the Mementos are permanently missable. Even if you beat the game, you can still go back and collect them all. The only choice you need to think about is Conjoined Heart vs. Encrusted Heart—once you commit to one path, you can't get the other in that playthrough. But that's fine, you're not going for all 9 anyway since it's impossible to get both!
Time Investment
Realistically, collecting all 8 Mementos will take 10-15 hours depending on your skill level. Hunter's Memento alone can eat up 5-6 hours if you're missing a lot of journal entries. The platforming and minigame challenges might take multiple attempts, so budget time for retries.
Pro Tip: Work on Hunter's Journal entries throughout your playthrough instead of grinding them all at the end. Future you will thank present you!
Frequently Asked Questions
How many Mementos are there total?
There are 9 different Mementos in the game: Surface, Craw, Grey, Conjoined Heart, Hero's, Hunter's, Sprintmaster, Guardian's, and Encrusted Heart. However, you can only collect 8 in a single playthrough because Conjoined Heart and Encrusted Heart are mutually exclusive—you have to choose one or the other.
What's the difference between Conjoined Heart and Encrusted Heart?
Both are heart Mementos, but you can only get one. The Conjoined Heart comes from completing the Green Prince quest and keeping it. The Encrusted Heart requires using the Conjoined Heart for the "Dark Hearts" wish, then getting the Encrusted Heart from Crust King Khaan instead. Most players choose the Conjoined Heart because it's simpler.
Can I miss any Mementos permanently?
Nope! All Mementos can be collected even after beating the game. Nothing is permanently missable, so don't stress if you forget one during your main playthrough.
Do I need all Mementos for 100% completion?
Mementos don't directly affect your completion percentage, but if you're a completionist, you'll want them all anyway. Plus, they make your Bellhome look way cooler.
Which Memento is the hardest to get?
Hunter's Memento is the grindiest (234 journal entries), but Guardian's Memento is arguably the hardest skill-wise because those minigame scores are tough. Surface Memento has the hardest platforming.
When should I start collecting Mementos?
Most become available in Act 3, so that's when you can start seriously hunting them. Work on Hunter's Journal entries throughout the whole game though—don't wait until the end!
What do Mementos actually do?
They're purely decorative items for your Bellhome. No gameplay benefits, just cool trophies to show off your accomplishments. Buy the Desk from Frey to display them.
Do I need specific abilities to collect Mementos?
Yes—Silk Soar is required for several (Surface, Grey), and Needolin is needed for Surface and Grey Mementos specifically. Most other abilities you'll naturally get through normal progression.
Can I check which Mementos I already have?
There's no in-game checklist, unfortunately. Your best bet is to check your Bellhome Desk to see what's displayed, or just keep a manual list of what you've collected.
Wrapping Up
Collecting all 9 Mementos (well, 8 since you have to choose between the two hearts) is one of the more involved completion tasks in Silksong, but it's honestly pretty rewarding. Each one feels like a genuine accomplishment, whether you're beating a secret boss, mastering the minigames, or finally completing that damn Hunter's Journal.
Don't forget about that Conjoined Heart vs. Encrusted Heart choice—most players go for the Conjoined Heart since it's way easier, but if you're a completionist who wants to see everything, you might want to go for the Encrusted Heart on a second playthrough.
Don't try to rush through all of them in one sitting—that's a recipe for burnout. Knock them out gradually as you play through Act 3, and save the grindier ones (Hunter's, Guardian's) for when you're in the mood for that kind of challenge.
And hey, once you've got them all displayed in your Bellhome, it actually feels like a proper home instead of just an empty room. Totally worth the effort.
Happy hunting! Your Bellhome's gonna look amazing with all these Mementos on display.
